A rental service for newborn items has opened in Dzerzhinsk.

      A new rental point for essential items for newborns has opened in Dzerzhinsk. The launch of the point was announced by the head of the city, Mikhail Klinkov, on his Telegram channel.

      The official emphasized the importance of such initiatives, which allow families with infants to feel care and involvement from the state.

      "All support measures can be found on the portal of the Nizhny Novgorod project 'OSNOVA'. Rental of items for newborns is just one of five initiatives proposed by the Russian Ministry of Labour as part of the national 'Family' project," the mayor noted.

      Klinkov added that such points help parents promptly resolve the issue of necessary items in the first months of a child's life.

      "Thanks to such measures, the horizon of comfort for babies is expanding. I wish all parents and the older generation: love your children, take care of them, raise them as true Dzerzhinsk residents — so that they are proud of their roots and continue the family story," he added.

      According to Liliya Kartalova, director of the Center for Social Services, about 300 items are available at the rental point. These include cribs, strollers, changing tables, car seats and swings. Items are issued free of charge, with up to three units per person.

      Large families, families of participants in the special military operation (SVO), low-income families and young families are eligible to receive items. More than 60 Dzerzhinsk families have already used the service.

      In November, Governor Gleb Nikitin announced the opening of new children's equipment points by the end of 2025. In December, such a point began operating in the Kstovsky District.
