27 cars were seized from debtors in Nizhny Novgorod.

      In the Nizhny Novgorod region the tax service, together with bailiffs, has stepped up control over taxpayers with debts to the budget. This was reported by the regional office of the Federal Tax Service.

      In the first two weeks of December specialists checked 44 Nizhny Novgorod residents whose total debts exceeded 7.1 million rubles.

      As a result of the checks 27 vehicles and other types of property were seized. If the debtors do not take urgent steps to repay the debts, the seized property will be put up for auction. The proceeds will be used to cover debts to the state.

      Some residents chose to settle their debts voluntarily. Thus, three Nizhny Novgorod residents paid a total of 258 thousand rubles to avoid losing property.

      Such raids are carried out regularly and are aimed at improving tax discipline. Tax officers and bailiffs seize cash, freeze real estate, and tow cars to specialized impound lots.

      The Federal Tax Service reminded that forced measures can be avoided by checking for debts in a timely manner. This can be done through the "Personal Taxpayer Account", the "Nalog FL" mobile app, the Gosuslugi portal, or at MFC or tax inspectorate offices.

      Earlier Nizhny Novgorod taxpayers were told what would happen if taxes were not paid by December 1.
