The reconstruction of the tram tracks on the Lykova Embankment in Nizhny Novgorod has come to an end, LLC "Ecological Projects" reported on 23 December.
The contractor replaced the rails and temporarily asphalted the sections adjacent to the tracks. Permanent asphalt paving is planned when favorable weather arrives in spring–summer.
Traffic restrictions on this section have been completely lifted.
Earlier it was reported that trams could be launched on the city ring at the end of 2025 or during the New Year holidays. For now, tram No. 2 runs from Lyadov Square to Black Pond and back. Meanwhile, reconstruction of the tracks at the Zelensky Descent will be completed in spring 2026.
On 15 December, relaying of tram tracks began on the section from Komsomolskaya Square to Dubki Park.
