A band from Kstovo, "Noon of Victory," unveiled a new song inspired by the figure of Stepan Razin, reports pravda-nn.ru. It was included in the music compilation "There Is a Cliff Above the Volga," created in support of Zakhar Prilepin's novel "Tuma" (18+).
The piece is called "Gather, Comrades!" and is styled after an old Cossack song in a roots-reggae style.
"It tells of the pivotal years in the history of this legendary hero. For us it echoes the present day, when people go to defend their Fatherland alongside their battle-brothers. Stepan Timofeevich also united people for acts of heroism. I often have to go to Donbas as part of a front-line agitprop brigade; we perform for fighters, and every time I see how the story of the feat repeats," shared the band's frontman Sergey Pavlov.
The lyrics were written by Vasily Prokhanov, son of the writer Alexander Prokhanov. Dmitry Nekrasov from the group "DNK" and musicians from the collective "Lampasy" also took part in the recording.
In the coming days the song will be performed at the concert "Oi, To Ne Vecher" (6+), which will take place at the philharmonic. Several ensembles will gather there, each of which will perform its own version of the song about Stepan Razin.
It was previously reported that Zakhar Prilepin plans to create a stage production and a film adaptation of his novel about Stepan Razin.
