      The Development Corporation, with the support of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, will hold the regional "Investor of the Year" competition. Its goal is to support the region's most significant investment projects across various sectors of the economy and to promote the dissemination of best practices.

      "As part of the competition we will award companies that have made a significant contribution to the development of the economy and human capital of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Special attention will be paid to socially responsible enterprises and manufacturers that have implemented innovative solutions in their activities," emphasized Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Andrey Sanosyan.

      "Investor of the Year" will be the company demonstrating sustained leadership in the volume and quality of investments, having implemented projects that are strategically significant for the region.

      In the "Best Investment Project" category three winners will be chosen—one in each category depending on the volume of investments: from 200 million to 500 million rubles, from 500 million to 1 billion rubles, and over 1 billion rubles.

      The award will also be presented in the following nominations: "Productivity Flagship," "Socially Responsible Investor," "Investments in Human Capital," "Investment Startup," and "Investments in Innovation."

      "We see that business continues to invest in new projects, including in the social sphere, despite tight monetary policy. Such initiative should be encouraged, thereby motivating companies to new achievements," said Igor Ishchenko, CEO of the Development Corporation of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Currently, the Development Corporation of the Nizhny Novgorod Region is supporting more than 350 investment projects with a total investment volume exceeding 372 billion rubles. The development agency also serves as the managing company of the Kulibin special economic zone.

      It should be recalled that the Nizhny Novgorod Region in 2025 confirmed its status as one of the leading regions in the National Rating of the Investment Climate by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI).

      Starting in 2025, "Increasing Investment Activity" is one of the federal projects within the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy," initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

      The task of the federal project is to ensure that business conditions are clear, that risks are shared between the state and investors, and to provide systemic support measures to increase the share of investments in gross regional product (GRP).
