      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, fraudsters impersonating the head of the State Housing Inspectorate, Igor Serbul, are extracting personal data from local residents, the agency's press service said.

      The scammers created a fake account in Igor Serbul’s name from which they send messages to Nizhny Novgorod residents. The perpetrators send invitations to groups and then ask recipients to confirm their registration information using Gosuslugi.

      The State Housing Inspectorate warns that the agency does not send such messages and does not require confirmation of data via Gosuslugi. Residents of Nizhny Novgorod should be vigilant when communicating with suspicious messenger accounts. For clarification, it is recommended to contact the agency only through official channels. Earlier it was reported that a new fraud scheme is spreading in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Scammers have begun calling teenagers and their parents impersonating the military enlistment office. They ask them to confirm an appointment booking using Gosuslugi.
