According to VTB forecasts, next year the portfolio of attracted funds will grow by 11% and exceed 73 trillion rubles. The growth rate compared with this year (+14.5%) will slow, but will still remain above inflation. This was stated at the 16th VTB Investment Forum "RUSSIA CALLS!" by Senior Vice President and Head of VTB's Retail Business Products Department Alexey Okhorzin.

The overwhelming majority of savings remain held by Russians in rubles. Their share will increase by another 1–2 percentage points by the end of the year and will reach 95%. High rates on savings products persist and remain the main incentive to place funds in deposits and savings accounts.

Next year the savings market will continue moving upward, although at a more moderate pace. VTB estimates growth at about 11%, but it may vary depending on the intensity of the Central Bank's plans to ease monetary policy. If inflationary pressure falls, this will be reflected both in the key rate and in deposit rates.

"High rates are a powerful incentive that has delivered record growth to the savings market over the past two years, and next year it will continue at double-digit rates. Short-term deposits will remain dominant. One of the key trends that will strengthen next year is the development of personalization and personalized offers," commented Alexey Okhorzin.

Recall that in recent days several major banks in Russia announced increases in deposit rates, which indicates the traditional start of the pre-New Year race: increased public interest in savings products ahead of the payment of 13th salaries, and also the desire of credit institutions to attract this stable liquidity by adjusting deposit terms.

Thus, VTB announced that from 1 December 2025 it is once again raising interest rates on ruble deposits for terms of 4 and 6 months for all clients. Similar steps were taken last week by Gazprombank, Bank Dom.RF, T-Bank, MKB and other financial institutions.
