02 December 2025 15:20 Society Authorities of Nizhny Novgorod commented on the imposition of a high-alert regime on Zarechny Boulevard, where a ground collapse was recorded in the area of the cable car construction across the Oka.
According to information from the city administration provided to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod", specialists of the municipal institution "Department of Engineering Protection of the Territories of the City of Nizhny Novgorod" daily monitor the technical condition of the section of the hydrotechnical tunnel of the Rzhavka River where the collapse occurred.
At present, specialists are carrying out preparatory measures necessary to begin restoration work on the damaged part of the tunnel. Repairs are planned in the area of building No. 32 on Lenin Avenue.
It was previously reported that construction of the cable car across the Oka in Nizhny Novgorod began in August 2025. Completion of the main works is scheduled for the end of 2026.
