In December, Nizhny Novgorod residents will have the shortest working week of the year.

      01 December 2025 10:35 Society. Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod Region can expect the shortest working week of 2025 in December. This is due to the transfer of days off approved by a decree of the Russian government.

      In the last week of December, Nizhny Novgorod residents will have to work only two days — December 29 and 30. After that, prolonged holiday days will begin, lasting from December 31, 2025 to January 11, 2026, inclusive.

      The reason for such long holidays was that the holiday on January 5 fell on a Sunday. According to the law, in such cases the day off is transferred. In 2025 it was moved to December 31, making that day a non-working day.

      Thus, in January 2026 Nizhny Novgorod residents will work only 15 days out of 31.

      Recall that over the course of next year residents of the region will have seven shortened working weeks due to holidays.
