A woman from Nizhny Novgorod will be convicted of torturing four children for many years.

A resident of Diveyevsky District will be tried for torturing her four minor children, the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Nizhny Novgorod Region reported.
According to the investigation, from 2015 to 2024 the woman regularly beat her children and used unacceptable methods of upbringing.
In December 2024 a criminal case was opened against her on charges of torturing minors with particular cruelty and failing to fulfill duties to raise children. The court remanded her in custody.
The defendant's children were placed in a social rehabilitation center in Nizhny Novgorod. She was deprived of parental rights.
As became known on 1 December 2025, the investigation into the criminal case was completed. The prosecutor's office approved the indictment. The materials have been sent to court.
Earlier it was reported that the torture of children at a kindergarten in Pavlov resulted in a criminal case.
