30 November 2025 11:50 Society — Mother-Heroine from Lukoyanov Natalia Sklyanchuk shared her views on raising children ahead of Mother's Day, which is celebrated on 30 November.
In a conversation with the portal "Zhivem v Nizhnem" the Nizhny Novgorod resident said she herself grew up in a large family where her parents were always open to conversations, listened to each child and tried to help in any situation. It is precisely this approach, Natalia said, that she tries to bring into her own family.
Sklyanchuk noted that sometimes caring requires a lot of time and effort, but achieving goals and solving family problems brings such joy that it fully compensates for the fatigue.
Speaking about the principles on which their family life is built, she emphasized that constant communication remains decisive. Despite the influence of gadgets, which make it harder to maintain close contact, Natalia strives to preserve live conversation as the basis of mutual understanding.
She said that children in their family are taught honesty, decency and diligence, as well as the ability to get along with others. At the same time she stressed that she does not impose her choices on her children or restrict them in determining their own interests. In her words, strict boundaries prevent a person from becoming internally free and from gaining a firm stance in life.
It should be noted that Natalia Sklyanchuk became the first person in the Nizhny Novgorod Region to be awarded the title "Mother-Heroine" by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. This happened in spring 2025. Congratulating the Nizhny Novgorod resident on the occasion, the region's head, Gleb Nikitin, expressed confidence that measures taken at the regional level and measures included in the national project "Family" will help many more couples to experience the joy of parenthood and become a large family.
It was also reported that large families in Russia will be able to receive annual payments from June 2026.
By the way, a new holiday has been established in the Nizhny Novgorod Region — Large Family Day. It will be celebrated on the last Sunday of September.
