      An 18-year-old student from Kstovo fell for an "easy-money" scheme offered by a classmate. This was reported by the press service of the Nizhny Novgorod Region police. A friend asked him to issue new bank cards but link them to other people's phone numbers. The young man agreed, issued several cards, met the conditions and received money from his fellow student.

      Some time later he was contacted by unknown persons who asked him to go to the bank to restore access to the accounts and withdraw cash from them, since transactions on those cards had been blocked. The student told his mother about everything, decided to block the issued cards and went to the police.

      The classmate was detained: it turned out that he had been handing the cards to third parties and participating in a fraud scheme. A criminal case has been opened. Now the student faces up to six years in prison.
