More than 110 Nizhny Novgorod entrepreneurs participated in the Russian Railways Supplier Day.

      29 November 2025 14:53 Economy — More than 110 Nizhny Novgorod entrepreneurs took part in Supplier Day of OJSC Russian Railways. The event was organized by the "My Business" center together with the regional Ministry of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship in line with the aims and objectives of the federal project "Small and Medium-Sized Entrepreneurship" of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy."

      The event was attended by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Maxim Cherkasov, and the head of the Gorky Railway — a branch of OJSC Russian Railways, Sergey Dorofeevsky.

      Maxim Cherkasov noted that establishing business relationships within the region spares the parties a number of costs: logistics issues, product quality control and communications between partners are simplified.

      "Supplier Days are a direct route for Nizhny Novgorod’s small and medium-sized businesses to major customers. Here, entrepreneurs receive information about companies’ requirements, hold direct negotiations and present their products to potential partners at pitch sessions. This year we organized nine industry meetings. The culmination was the Supplier Day with OJSC Russian Railways — one of the largest events in the series. We expect these interactions to lead to real contracts in the near future. In total, since the beginning of the year more than 900 Nizhny Novgorod entrepreneurs have taken part in these events," said Maxim Cherkasov.

      He added that at the event the regional "My Business" center and OJSC Russian Railways signed a cooperation agreement. The document was signed by the first deputy head of the Gorky Railway — a branch of OJSC Russian Railways, for economics, finance and corporate coordination, Oleg Lukoyanov, and the director of the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization "Corporation for the Development of Industry and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region," Ivan Razuvaev. Under the agreement, mutual informational support and joint events are planned.

      The event featured an exhibition of products by 17 Nizhny Novgorod entrepreneurs.

      "All the products demonstrated by the manufacturers are very decent. This is important, because the safety of employees and passengers depends on the quality of the supplied product. We see that manufacturers share our values, we are open to new suppliers and are actively developing cooperation with enterprises of the Nizhny Novgorod Region," noted Sergey Dorofeevsky.

      Participants of the Supplier Day also received consultations from specialists of the SME Corporation, the regional Ministry of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship, the "My Business" center, the Microcredit Company, the Industrial Development Fund and the guarantee organization. Experts told them about current support measures operating in the region that will allow regional enterprises to grow to a level meeting customers’ requirements.

      Recall that since the beginning of 2025 Supplier Days have been held in the fields of medicine, passenger transport and logistics, metallurgy, automotive manufacturing, retail, the nuclear industry, construction, as well as a separate event for industrial enterprises of Dzerzhinsk.

      The national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy," initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, is the main instrument for forming a new growth model. It includes federal projects aimed at developing small and medium-sized enterprises, increasing labor productivity, boosting investment activity, low-carbon development and developing the state system of statistics and forecasting. One of the main points of the national project "Small and Medium-Sized Entrepreneurship" was to create conditions for an easy start and comfortable conduct of business. Work to support entrepreneurs in this area continues within the framework of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy."
