A branch of PJSC Rosseti reinforced the structures of seven key power transmission routes in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      28 November 2025 10:15 The Energy Company of the PJSC Rosseti branch – MES Volga replaced and reinforced supports on 220–500 kV transmission lines in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The project increased the structures' resistance to environmental impacts and, consequently, the reliability of system-forming transit lines on which the power supply of major cities such as Nizhny Novgorod, Arzamas, Dzerzhinsk, Bor and others depends.

      The replacement of reinforced-concrete supports was carried out on power lines feeding the southeastern and central districts of the region and involved in supplying electricity to enterprises of the petrochemical cluster. Modern Russian-made structures based on centrifugally cast sectional poles were installed at the sites. They have high mechanical strength and are resistant to severe climatic conditions. The height of the supports reaches up to 30 m.

      Work to reinforce the foundations of the supports was carried out on lines supplying electricity to Nizhny Novgorod, the northeastern and central parts of the Nizhny Novgorod region, including the Borsky industrial hub. High-strength concrete and modern polymer materials were used during the repairs, providing waterproofing of the structures and resistance to temperature fluctuations.

      Replacement and reinforcement of the supports is an important stage in preparing the power grid complex for operation in the autumn-winter period. The decision to carry out the work is made based on the results of a comprehensive inspection of the transmission lines using modern non-destructive testing methods.
