Output at the Nizhny Novgorod manufacturer of aluminum parts increased by 16% thanks to "Labor Productivity".

      26 November 2025 15:49 Economy Experts from the regional competence center (RCC), together with employees of LLC Foundry Plant "RosALit" (Zavolzhye, Nizhny Novgorod Region), summed up the results of implementing the tools of the federal project "Labor Productivity" of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy". The enterprise specializes in the production of aluminum castings, complex-shaped parts with machining, and the manufacture of tooling.

      The pilot stream chosen was the process of producing castings with machining, which accounts for 23% of the company's revenue. RCC experts conducted a diagnosis and identified 15 "bottlenecks" requiring solutions.

      "The key areas of improvement were halving the setup time of the casting machine through the introduction of standardized work. In addition, to optimize logistics on the shop floor the equipment layout was changed, which reduced travel distances by 50 meters. These and other innovations helped reduce process flow time by 33 percent and increase output by 16 percent," said Maxim Cherkasov, Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      RCC specialists also trained 24 company employees in lean technologies and prepared two internal trainers who will be able to independently train their colleagues in the future.

      In the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the tools of the federal project "Labor Productivity" of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy" are being implemented by two foundry operations in total. A total of 302 regional companies are participants in the federal project.
