Developers from Nizhny Novgorod presented the drone "Tourist".

      26 November 2025 15:50 Society Developers from a Nizhny Novgorod design bureau, with the support of the Kulibin Club of the People’s Front, presented the "Tourist" quadcopter-type unmanned aerial vehicle. The drone has been tested and is being supplied to the zone of the special military operation. The design bureau’s work is organized in accordance with the goals and objectives of the national project "Unmanned Aviation Systems."

      “We produce the unmanned aerial vehicle 'Tourist,' which is used in the SVO zone. This drone can be used both in kamikaze mode and in reconnaissance mode. For kamikaze use we specifically modified and made a mounting platform for a munition according to the requests of the fighters. 'Tourist' was tested by us together with a servicemember. It is designed for a maximum weight of up to 5 kg, with a flight range of 12 km,” said Alexander, a representative of the manufacturing company.

      According to him, over the past year the company delivered about 1,200 quadcopters to Russian military units, and another 400 units are planned for shipment.

      “We communicate with the fighters, receive positive feedback and videos that demonstrate the results of successful target strikes,” Alexander added.

      In addition, developers from Nizhny Novgorod have created their own device to counter the enemy’s electronic warfare systems. The compact module can be mounted on any drone and enables operation under jamming conditions.

      The Kulibin Club of the People’s Front is engaged in selecting, testing, and supporting the serial production of the best developments by domestic engineers. Thanks to this initiative, it has been possible to supply thousands of innovative electronic warfare tools for countering enemy drones, quadcopters, self-propelled robot trolleys, and other products to the front.

      Recall that since 2025, on the instructions of President Vladimir Putin, the national project "Unmanned Aviation Systems" has been in effect in Russia, within the framework of which the development, standardization, and serial production of UAS and their components are being carried out. In addition, a base is being formed for the production of next-generation drones, and a system for the continuous training of specialists in this field is being created.

      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, under the national project, a specialized research and production testing and competence center for the development of the UAS industry has been established. A network of such centers will be created in various regions of the country. An experimental legal regime for drone flights has been introduced in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
