There is no mass return of apartments sold because of scammers in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      There are no mass cases in the Nizhny Novgorod region of apartments being returned after being sold under the influence of fraudsters. The regional court told the NTA-Privolzhye news agency.

      The court clarified that they do not keep separate statistics on such contested transactions because their number is small. A court representative noted that it is difficult to name the date of the first such case, as fraudulent schemes involving real estate did not appear this year. In his words, "there is definitely no epidemic."

      Earlier, Elena Makarova, president of the Nizhny Novgorod Guild of Certified Realtors, said that although there is no exact data for the region, the number of lawsuits over transactions carried out under pressure from fraudsters is nevertheless increasing. Elderly sellers are especially often involved in such stories.

      According to Makarova, a similar situation recently occurred in one of the settlements near Nizhny Novgorod. A servicemember's family purchased an apartment from a 68-year-old man. After the transaction the pensioner went to court, claiming he had become a victim of fraudsters. The court granted his claim and ordered the new owners to return the dwelling. The seller himself did not return the money to the buyers, explaining that he had already transferred it to the fraudsters.

      It was reported that a woman from Nizhny Novgorod sold an apartment and handed 4 million rubles to fraudsters.
