The repair of Malaya Pokrovskaya Street in Nizhny Novgorod is 99% complete.

      The major overhaul of Malaya Pokrovskaya Street in Nizhny Novgorod is nearing completion. According to the municipal public institution "GUMMiD," the project's readiness is 99%.

      Work was carried out on the section from Bolshaya Pokrovskaya to Pokhvalinsky Descent. During this time the street has been noticeably transformed. The sidewalks were widened — in places they now reach 11 meters in width. The roadway was also renewed, and all cable lines were buried underground, making the street look cleaner and more spacious.

      First Deputy Head of the institution Ilya Kurapov noted that Malaya Pokrovskaya should in the future connect Bolshaya Pokrovskaya with the Pochainsky Ravine and Ilyinskaya Street. All these areas are planned to be designed in a unified architectural style to create a cohesive and convenient urban space.

      Natural granite was used for the landscaping; the granite paving stones and curbs were installed. New modern lighting has also been installed on the street.

      Recall that the section of Malaya Pokrovskaya from Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street to Architect Kharitonov Street could become a promenade area for newlyweds. Participants of the Community of Young Families approached the city administration with this initiative. The idea received support from the Public Chamber.

      Specialists from the Department of Transport and Road Management are now studying the feasibility of implementing this idea. "The proposal is very bold and timely, but it is necessary to approach the implementation of these changes carefully so that all road users are comfortable," the Department of Transport said.

      Earlier it was reported that Malaya Pokrovskaya will remain closed to traffic until the end of 2025.
