Asphalt laid on the overpass of the Gagarin Avenue service road — photo

      22 November 2025 11:44 Society The contractor completed the first laying of the top layer of asphalt concrete pavement on the overpass that is part of the interchange over the R-158 highway, representatives of "Avtoban" reported on social networks. The work is being carried out as part of the third phase of construction of a parallel road to Gagarin Avenue in Nizhny Novgorod.

      Workers used stone mastic asphalt — a durable material that provides a longer service life for the road compared to traditional pavements.

      "The overpass is a key structure of the future interchange, and laying the top layer is always a landmark event," emphasized Ivan Khlamin, head of production for artificial structures at PK "Avtoban."

      Recall that the parallel road is being built under a concession agreement signed in December 2023. The total length of the future route will exceed 12.3 km. The project is divided into four phases, and the total investment amounts to 64.4 billion rubles. The concession agreement is for a period of 30 years and 9 months, while construction of the parallel road will take 4.5 years.

      Earlier it was reported that the R-158 between the villages of Ol'gino and Blizhniy Borisov will be closed at night to facilitate construction of the Gagarin Avenue parallel road.
