Two underground gambling clubs were raided in Nizhny Novgorod — video

      Investigators of the Investigative Committee have opened a criminal case over the illegal organization of gambling in Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported by the regional Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

      According to law enforcement, a group of individuals set up a gaming club in premises on Oktyabrskoy Revolyutsii and Dobrolyubova streets. Gambling activities were conducted in violation of federal law — outside a specially designated gambling zone.

      In November, during a joint operation by investigators of the Investigative Committee, officers of the Main Directorate for Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and SOBR fighters from the Rosgvardiya Directorate for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the activities of the illegal gambling club were suppressed. Gaming equipment, cash and mobile phones were seized.

      Two local women were questioned as suspects. They confirmed that they took part in organizing and conducting gambling using equipment outside the zone established by law. The women were placed under a written undertaking not to leave and to behave properly.

      Law enforcement are currently identifying all persons involved in the operation of the underground gambling establishment and collecting the evidentiary base for the criminal case.

      Recall that in May 2025 the Nizhny Novgorod District Court handed down sentences to 14 organizers of gambling clubs. In October the organizers of another network of illegal casinos in the regional center heard their sentences.
