After the tragic crash of a light aircraft in the Kstovo district, the Nizhny Novgorod transport prosecutor’s office conducted an inspection and secured a ban on the use of an illegal airstrip. This was reported by the press service of the Privolzhsk Transport Prosecutor’s Office.

It emerged that the plane that crashed in February 2025 took off from a plot near the village of Novolikeevo. That area is classified as agricultural land and is not intended for aviation. Nevertheless, the takeoff that ended with the deaths of two people — the pilot and a passenger — was made from there.

The Kstovo City Court upheld the prosecutor’s demands and ordered the cessation of use of the plot as a landing site. Any flights from this territory are also prohibited.

Recall that the maneuver the pilot attempted was prohibited for this model. The aircraft entered a steep dive with a heavy bank and could not recover to a safe trajectory. After hitting the ground, it caught fire. A technical examination showed that the aircraft was serviceable, and the engine and control system were operating normally.

The criminal investigation continues. The prosecutor’s office is monitoring the progress of the investigation and overseeing the adoption of the final decision.

Earlier it was reported that in the summer a Su-34 aircraft crashed during a training flight in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
