The introduction of a tourist tax in the Diveevo municipal district has been postponed until 2027. This was stated by the Minister of Tourism and Crafts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Sergey Yakovlev, during Governor Gleb Nikitin’s meeting with entrepreneurs.
The question was raised with the governor by a representative of the hotel complex “Diveyevskaya Sloboda.” According to her, nearly 50 hotels and guest houses and about 200 apartments and serviced flats are currently open in Diveevo, and it will be extremely difficult for official taxpayers to compete with them after the introduction of the tourist tax on January 1, 2026. The hotel industry representative asked Gleb Nikitin to postpone the introduction of the tourist tax in the Diveevo district. The head of the region, in turn, said that it was time to address “the issue of formalizing and bringing into the legal framework the activities being carried out there.”
Sergey Yakovlev, the region’s Minister of Tourism and Crafts, added that formalizing the village of Diveevo would require assistance from the regional office of the Federal Tax Service and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Gleb Nikitin instructed the relevant agencies, together with the Ministry of Tourism, to work through the issue. Following the meeting, Sergey Yakovlev reported that, together with the administration of the Diveevo municipal district, a decision had been made to postpone the introduction of the tourist tax until 2027.
Recall that from January 1, 2025 the tourist tax was introduced simultaneously in three districts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region — Gorodetsky, Balakhninsky and Kstovsky.
