NGTU at the "Young Nizhny" career forum
The career forum "Young Nizhny" took place at the Mayak Academy named after A.D. Sakharov and brought together more than 700 participants — students, schoolchildren and representatives of the working youth — who met with representatives of 38 enterprises and organizations of Nizhny Novgorod, as well as 16 educational institutions of the city.
The forum program included: an employers' exhibition, a universities exhibition, a panel discussion, a digest of in-demand and unique professions, company presentations, interactive zones from participating enterprises, a Quantorium zone, the work of a consulting center, lecture halls, business games and much more.
The forum opened with a panel discussion "The Professional Future of Youth in the Conditions of Contemporary Reality," in which participants, together with employers and representatives of the authorities, discussed issues of realizing the professional potential of young people at the region's enterprises and organizations.
The discussion was attended by Deputy Chair of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Ekaterina Solntseva, Deputy Head of Nizhny Novgorod Vladimir Anisimov and CEO of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation Igor Ishchenko.
Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University was one of the active participants in the forum. At the university's stand, staff of the Faculty of Pre-University Training and Additional Educational Services told prospective applicants about the main fields of study and the opportunities that open up for polytechnic graduates. Students of NGTU named after R.E. Alekseev attended meetings with representatives of industrial enterprises and met potential employers.
"Leading enterprises of our city were represented at the forum, which opens a direct road to employment and mentorship for young people and helps them more precisely define their career goals. This is an invaluable opportunity to test their skills in practice, understand the vector of development and decide in which direction to move in the future," noted Deputy Head of Nizhny Novgorod Vladimir Anisimov.
It should be recalled that the "Young Nizhny" career forum was held as part of the implementation of state youth policy in the territory of Nizhny Novgorod. The organizer of the event was the City Administration.
