Restoration works on the Chardymov House and the Samgin House in Nizhny Novgorod are nearing completion. The buildings on Bolshaya Pecherskaya Street are planned to be fully restored by the end of the current year, pravda-nn.ru reports.
At the moment, construction crews are engaged in interior finishing and façade restoration. Shortly, the plinth will be clad in granite and new asphalt paving will be laid around the buildings.
Recall that the cultural heritage site "Chardymov House", built in the early 20th century, was damaged by a fire on May 30, 2022. In June 2025 the building's restoration project received approval from the state examination. Restoration work began last spring. The general contractor for the project is the company "Nizhegorodsky Arendny Center".
As part of the works, not only are the architectural elements of the Chardymov House being restored, but the historic appearance of the Samgin House is also being recreated. A catering establishment is planned to be opened there. Completion of all restoration work is expected by the end of 2025.
It was previously reported that the deadline for completion of the restoration of the former Lenin Palace of Culture building in Nizhny Novgorod had been postponed to the end of 2028.
