      An open seminar dedicated to the development of triathlon and paratriathlon among veterans of the special military operation was held in Dzerzhinsk at the Regional Center for Adaptive Sports "Parus". The event was organized with the support of the Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the state fund "Defenders of the Fatherland" and the Nizhny Novgorod Triathlon Federation as part of the state program "Sport of Russia".

      The seminar served as a platform for communication between SVO veterans and leading athletes, coaches and representatives of adaptive sports. The guest of honor was SVO veteran Andrey Kupriyanov, a participant in the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program, whose mentor is the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Andrey Gneushev.

      Participants were told about sports achievements at the national and international levels, opportunities for training in triathlon and paratriathlon, the sections available at the Parus center and the conditions for joining the regional team.

      According to the Minister of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Dmitry Kabaylo, a system of social adaptation and rehabilitation of SVO veterans through sport is being built in the region. He noted that triathlon is one of the sports that attracts interest among SVO participants, and stressed the effectiveness of such events. Teams in sledge hockey, amputee football and sitting volleyball made up of SVO participants have also been formed in the region. Members of their families are also involved in physical education and sports, and access to state and municipal facilities for them is free.

      Among the seminar speakers were world champion and Tokyo Paralympic Games participant Mikhail Kolmakov, coach of the Russian Paralympic triathlon team Sergey Karacharov, head of the Nizhny Novgorod Triathlon Federation Alexey Ruskol and Deputy Minister of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Vladimir Kholopov.

      As a result of the event, some participants signed up for paratriathlon classes at the Parus center. Organizers said that the series of seminars will continue and will cover other sports, including powerlifting, running, football, knife throwing and others.
