The head of Nizhny Novgorod's Department of Education will continue his predecessor's work.
12 November 2025 14:17 Society The new head of the education department of the Nizhny Novgorod administration, Irina Boryakova, spoke about her first steps in the new position and shared plans for the development of the city's education sector.
Recall that Irina Boryakova was appointed to the post in mid-October by Mayor Yuri Shalabaev. Before that she headed School No. 131 in the Tsvety microdistrict, where almost three thousand students study. Boryakova has more than 20 years of experience in the education system. She began as a senior counselor and worked her way up to school principal.
In a conversation with pravda-nn.ru, Irina Boryakova noted that she has taken up work with concrete tasks but is not yet ready to make loud statements.
According to her, it is important now to delve into the processes and assess the current situation: "I came to work. But time will tell how I will cope with this. It's too early to draw any conclusions, and I am certainly not inclined to announce any long-term things."
She also expressed respect for her predecessor Vladimir Radchenko, who passed away in August 2025 at the age of 41. Boryakova emphasized that she had experience working with him and had been under his leadership. According to her, he left behind not only a strong professional team but also significant developments that she intends to continue, as well as to implement new tasks from the head of the city.
