A regional competition, "Family Volunteering-2025," has started in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      The Nizhny Novgorod Region has opened submissions for the II regional contest “Family Volunteering‑2025.” The project is organized by the Volunteer Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Region with the support of the regional government.

      The aim of the contest is to identify and support successful initiatives as well as innovative practices in the field of family volunteering. The best initiatives will be replicated and promoted across the region, which will help expand the movement and engage new families in charitable and volunteer activities. The project is intended to become a large platform for recognizing the merits of families whose volunteer activities contribute to the region’s development.

      Family teams of 2 to 10 people are invited to participate; teams may include children (under 18), parents, legal guardians and other relatives who carry out volunteer activities in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Winners will be chosen in 10 categories: “Family That Changes the World,” “Warmth of the Heart,” “Legacy of Good,” “Family Compass of Good,” “In the Rhythm of Young Hearts,” “The Art of Helping,” “Invisible Heroes,” “Mentors of Good,” “From Heart to Heart,” and “Flagship of Family Volunteering.”

      “The first ‘Family Volunteering’ contest received an incredible response from residents of Nizhny Novgorod. In 2024, more than 3,000 people from various parts of our region took part. We saw how powerful and constructive joint good deeds by children and parents can be, and we want to give these initiatives even greater support and recognition. When parents and children plant trees together, help animals from a shelter, or organize fundraising for those in need, they are not just performing a single good deed. They are passing on a strong moral compass to their children, fostering an active life stance and a sense of responsibility for their home, their city, their country,” said Maria Samodelkina, General Director of the Volunteer Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      To participate in the contest, you must submit an application on the Dobro.rf website at: https://dobro.ru/contest/390/apply/. Applications will be accepted until November 30. Winners will be announced in December 2025. The best family practices will receive not only recognition and valuable prizes but also the opportunity to present their experience at the regional and federal levels.
