Nizhny Novgorod Oblast entered the top 30 in terms of salary levels and distribution.

      Nizhny Novgorod Oblast took 27th place in the ranking of Russian regions by the level and distribution of wages.

      According to a RIA Novosti study, 3.9% of working residents of Nizhny Novgorod earn more than 200,000 rubles a month. Experts emphasize that the dynamics of labor incomes generally show a positive trend.

      The typical salary in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, analysts estimate, ranges from 44,000 to 94,000 rubles per month. Half of employees at large and medium-sized enterprises fall within this range. The rest are split evenly between those who earn less and those who earn more.

      According to the study, 27.4% of the region's residents receive less than 45,000 rubles per month.

      The best figures are in Magadan Oblast, Kamchatka and Chukotka — there such workers account for only 1–2.6%. The worst — in Dagestan, Chechnya and Ingushetia, where low incomes prevail among the majority of the population.

      Across the country, the average accrued salary for the first eight months of 2025 amounted to 93,000 rubles. This is 13.6% higher than a year ago. At the same time, the unemployment rate in September reached a historic low — 2.2%.

      Earlier it was reported that Nizhny Novgorod took 26th place in the ranking of Russian cities by salary level.
