      Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast Gleb Nikitin congratulated employees and veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on their professional holiday — the Day of the Employee of Internal Affairs Bodies, which is celebrated annually on November 10.

      In his address, the head of the region expressed gratitude for the daily work of ensuring law and order and security in the region.

      "Dear employees and veterans of the internal affairs bodies! I warmly congratulate you on your professional holiday! You stand guard over the law every day, protect the rights and interests of the residents of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, and make a huge contribution to the fight against crime, terrorism and extremism," Nikitin noted.

      He stressed that police come to people's aid in the most difficult situations, often putting their own lives and health at risk for the peace and safety of citizens.

      "Having once chosen to serve society, you remain true to that path. Courage, determination and devotion to duty are the qualities that distinguish every internal affairs officer, regardless of their service area," the governor added.

      In closing his address, he thanked Ministry of Internal Affairs staff for their professionalism and selflessness, wishing them good health, well-being and the support of their loved ones.
