A projection-mapping show will be displayed on the tower of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin on National Unity Day.
November 4, 2025, 11:14 Culture and Leisure — On November 4 the façade of the Dmitrievskaya Tower of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin will be decorated with a bright video projection (0+), prepared for the holiday. The show is a cycle of four episodes that will continuously replace one another and together reveal the key idea of the holiday — solidarity, cohesion, spiritual unity, brotherhood and the friendship of the peoples of Russia.
In the opening scene the state flag will unfold across the tower’s walls. Its colors and symbolism will be associated with peace, purity, nobility, loyalty, honesty, truth, courage, bravery and magnanimity — those qualities that unite the tricolor in the public perception as one of the main symbols of the country.
Against the backdrop of the flag’s smooth movement a golden coat of arms will appear, emphasizing the majesty and power of the state. Light glints will pass over the relief, creating an effect of ceremonial radiance.
The action will then move the viewer toward spiritual origins. An icon of Our Lady of Kazan, surrounded by a gold ornament, will appear on the façade. A soft glow will illuminate the faces of the Mother of God and the Infant, forming an atmosphere of warmth and volumetric light. Next a metal cover studded with sparkling gems will appear on the icon as a symbol of heavenly glory and Russia’s spiritual wealth, and the images themselves will receive silver adornment.
The next episode will unite historical memory, faith and popular unity. From a wall of light the monument to Minin and Pozharsky and the Pokrovsky Cathedral will rise, while the Russian tricolor will unfold again in the background. The elements of the composition will appear sequentially, as if emerging from a stream of light, emphasizing the heroism and strength of spirit of the people.
The finale will be a solemn greeting. A rowan branch will appear before the viewers as a sign of remembrance and resilience. Behind it the heavenly expanse will open — an image of peace, freedom and all-Russian unity. The letters of the congratulatory message will emerge gradually, as if coming out of the depths of the background, while clusters of rowan berries will gently sway in the wind. The composition will be completed by the reappearing Russian flag, after which the cycle will return to the first scene.
The show can be seen from 19:00 on November 4 until 02:00 on November 5.
It was reported that the Nizhny Novgorod TV tower will light up with festive illumination on Unity Day.
