The car-sharing driver who fatally struck a pedestrian on Lenin Avenue in Nizhny Novgorod will stand trial.

      According to the investigation, on July 20, 2025, in the morning hours, while intoxicated, a man sat behind the wheel of a rented car. Driving at excessive speed along the roadway near building No. 16 on Lenin Avenue, he entered the carriageway of the service road running parallel to Lenin Avenue, where he struck a pedestrian who was trying to escape from the oncoming vehicle. From the injuries sustained, the 25-year-old victim died at the scene. The criminal case has been sent to the Leninsky District Court of Nizhny Novgorod for consideration on the merits.
