Details and photos have emerged of a multi-vehicle crash on Gagarin Avenue.

      A multi-vehicle crash occurred on Gagarin Avenue on the night of November 2. Eyewitnesses told the news agency "V gorode N" the details of what happened.

      The accident took place at about 22:15 near Zhukov Square. The driver of a Lada was heading toward Shcherbinki when his car suddenly veered into the oncoming lane and collided with a Chinese-made passenger car. The domestic car then spun around and hit a Volkswagen Passat, and a moment later struck a Skoda Fabia.

      EMERCOM crews and ambulances arrived at the scene. Two people were injured — passengers of the Skoda; the force of the impact shattered that car’s windows and the airbags deployed. Soon after, the person responsible for the accident, who eyewitnesses said was intoxicated, approached the injured parties. He allegedly justified his condition by saying "it's my birthday today." Participants in the accident also said the man began offering them money to "settle the matter without the traffic police."

      In addition, eyewitnesses noticed that before the State Traffic Inspectorate officers arrived, the person responsible removed the license plates from his car and fled the scene. He lost one of the plates along the way; the injured parties found them.

      "When we checked the plates it turned out that this person has no insurance, so it's unclear how they will recover damages for three cars," an eyewitness to the accident said.
