Torpedo beat Avtomobilist and extended Kostin's shutout streak.
02 November 2025 18:00 Sport. Hockey Sunday ended with a confident victory for Nizhny Novgorod's "Torpedo" over Yekaterinburg's "Avtomobilist". The match took place in Yekaterinburg and was the second head-to-head meeting of the teams in a week. This time the Nizhny Novgorod side proved stronger, winning 2–0.
From the opening minutes active play began on the ice, but it was Torpedo that gradually seized the initiative. The team controlled the puck and created many chances. However, they failed to score in the first period.
In the second period Torpedo quickly opened the scoring. Already in the second minute of the period Yegor Vinogradov finished a pass from Bobby Nardella — 1–0. Alexander Yaremchuk also recorded an assist.
In the final period Avtomobilist tried to rally, increasing the pressure. However, the Nizhny Novgorod side held out. And a minute before the final siren Kirill Voronin scored into the empty net, putting the finishing touch on the contest.
This match was the third consecutive victory for Alexey Isakov's team and the second shutout for goaltender Denis Kostin. His shutout streak is 128 minutes and 17 seconds. With 30 points Torpedo sits in 2nd place in the Western Conference standings.
On the same day Nizhny Novgorod's "Chaika" defeated Yekaterinburg's junior team "Avto", while "Torpedo-Gorky" lost to "Omskie Krylya". All the system's teams played on the road.
Torpedo's next match (6+) will be on November 4 in Novosibirsk against "Sibir".
