A malfunction of the reversible lane system on the Borsky Bridge caused kilometer-long traffic jams.

      The remote control system for the reversible traffic lights on the Borsky Bridge has failed. Because of this, traffic on the bridge is now being temporarily regulated manually. This was reported by the Main Directorate of Highways of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      The failure in the reversible system has already caused significant traffic jams. According to Yandex Maps, a traffic jam more than five kilometers long has formed on the approach to the bridge from Bor via Kolkhoznaya Street.

      The situation is no better in Nizhny Novgorod. Traffic is also congested on Sergei Akimov, Kuibyshev and Proletarskaya streets.

      The road authority urged drivers to observe the speed limit and follow the instructions of inspectors on site. The organization of reversible traffic in manual mode will remain in effect until the automatic system is restored.

      "We strongly ask motorists to pay attention to the instructions of traffic police (GIBDD) officers and to observe the speed limit. We apologize for the inconvenience," added the Main Directorate.
