      Long weekends are a good reason to watch documentary films. "Frontline Editorial" is a series of short films about the war correspondents of the Great Patriotic War. About those who worked on the front line, reported from the scene and preserved vivid testimonies of the war. Available on VK Video and Rutube.

      "The First"

      How, in the first days of the war, writers and journalists became war correspondents. On June 24, 1941 they received the order and went to the front — from Tvardovsky to Simonov. Host — war correspondent of Komsomolskaya Pravda Alexander Kots.

      "Leningrad"

      Siege radio, Berggolts’s poetry, fake news and attempts at enemy propaganda — and the word that helped people hold on when the city lacked bread, paper, and light.       "Gaidar"

      "The Women Documentarians"

      The film is about women who held a camera, not a weapon, during the war. Ottilia Reizman and Maria Sukhova were the first female camera operators at the Central Newsreel Studio. Their work shows that professionalism and resilience have no gender. Host — war correspondent Elena Sokolova.
