FC Pari Nizhny Novgorod head coach Alexei Shpilevsky commented on rumors about his possible dismissal amid the team's poor results. His words are quoted by Sport-Express.
The specialist noted that such talk appears when a team does not produce the required result, and that is quite expected. Shpilevsky admitted: there is pressure, but he continues to do everything he can — working on developing the team and improving results.
"Don't think that we are doing nothing, that we are not trying. I do what I want, what I can, what I know how to do. Everything else does not depend on me," he added.
In addition, the coach commented on press reports that the club allegedly cannot fire him because of a large severance sum.
"It is very sad that such information goes to the press. Given the refusals and the offers I had, I probably would not have come to Pari NN if I had certain conditions that I had in Europe. ... The guys invited me with the promise that the club would develop, that young and promising players would be bought. We built on that and are growing together. Everyone understands that it takes time. Every development requires time," Shpilevsky said.
Recall that amid Pari NN's poor matches (the team lost 16 of the 20 games played this season) rumors appeared in the media that Shpilevsky might leave his post. However, the club's management is not considering the head coach's resignation for now, and not because of the severance — the club retains faith in his methods.
