      Deputy Head — Chief of Police of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Police Major General Vadim Yataykin, emphasized the importance of the work of precinct police officers and appealed to residents of the region to support Police Major Denis Ivanovich Spiryaev in the final stage of the All‑Russian contest "People's Precinct Officer 2025".

      According to Vadim Yataykin, the service of precinct officers is the closest to the population. He noted that it is the precinct officer who serves as the link between citizens and the internal affairs system: residents' requests and the police responses go through them. As the head emphasized, this explains the contest format, where the winner is determined by public recognition.

      The major general reminded that a precinct officer's duties include not only assistance within the framework of the police law and official responsibilities, but also comprehensive support for citizens. He also cited figures for the first nine months of 2025: more than 270,000 citizen appeals were processed, averaging over 400 per precinct officer; more than 3,000 crimes were solved, nearly 100 of them serious; 14 people wanted at the federal level were located. Together with volunteer organizations, 106 lost mushroom pickers were found, and 139 ambulance teams were assisted with access to apartments. In the area of migration control, precinct officers identified 97 violators who were deported from Russia.

      Vadim Yataykin acknowledged that the service currently bears an increased workload due to personnel shortages and the level of pay. He noted that citizens sometimes rightly point out shortcomings, such as delayed responses or protracted handling of appeals. According to him, the police are taking measures to eliminate such problems. He separately thanked the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Gleb Nikitin, for his support: by regional decision, precinct officers receive an additional 10,000 rubles to stimulate the service.

      Speaking about the contest finalist, the head noted that every third resident of Sarov named Denis Spiryaev the best precinct officer. He added that it was precisely the citizens' trust that allowed the officer to achieve such a result and reach the final.

      Vadim Yataykin appealed to Nizhny Novgorod residents to support their compatriot at the federal level. He stressed that a vote for Police Major Denis Ivanovich Spiryaev is also support for all precinct officers who carry out their duties daily for the safety of the region's residents.

      Voting will take place from November 1 to 10, 2025, on the Komsomolskaya Pravda portal.
