Grants totaling more than 26 million rubles were awarded to 24 agro-industrial enterprises on the Day of the Agricultural Worker and Food Processing Industry of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The ceremony took place at the Nizhny Novgorod Fair on November 1.
“Agricultural enterprises ensure the food security of our region and country, so supporting them is of special importance. Today we honored those who over the past year have made a significant contribution to the development of the industry or achieved professional success. I congratulate Nizhny Novgorod’s farmers on the holiday and wish them further success in their work,” said Andrey Sanosyan, Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The event was attended by Deputy Governor Andrey Gneushev, Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the region Nikolai Denisov, and Chairman of the Regional Legislative Assembly Evgeny Lyulin.
“Agriculture is a dynamically developing sector that actively integrates modern high-tech equipment and innovative technologies, transforming from a traditionally labor-intensive sphere into a high-tech sector of the economy. But people remain the main factor. More than 40,000 people work in agriculture and food industry enterprises. And the agro-industrial complex is confidently developing thanks to the labor of each of them. I wish strength and worthy results from this hard work,” said Nikolai Denisov, Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
Thus, grants "For Achievements in the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex" of 1.5 million rubles each were awarded to 16 Nizhny Novgorod enterprises. Six farms received grants of 300,000 rubles, and two enterprises received 200,000 rubles. In addition, 19 employees of the winning enterprises in the “Best in Profession” competition received cash awards of 20,000 rubles.
“Our farmers guarantee the region’s food security: this year almost two million tons of grain were harvested, and needs for grain, potatoes and vegetables have been fully met. The quality of the products is also confirmed by our entry into the international market — the region is a leader in the export of mayonnaise, sauces and honey, supplying products to foreign markets worth hundreds of millions of rubles. The sector shows steady growth. Investors are implementing projects worth 86 billion rubles and creating thousands of jobs. I congratulate all workers and veterans of the agro-industrial complex on their professional holiday and thank you for your tireless work,” said Evgeny Lyulin, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
