Bus route No. 70 will be shortened in Nizhny Novgorod as of January 1.

From January 1, 2025, the route of bus No. 70 in Nizhny Novgorod will be adjusted. The section passing through Meshchersky Boulevard and the "Seventh Heaven" shopping center will be removed from the route map.
Now buses will start from the loop on Karl Marx Street and then proceed toward Sergei Akimov Street. The section along Meshchersky Boulevard will be removed from the map entirely.
As explained by Deputy Head of the regional Ministry of Transport Denis Ryabinin, the changes are based on the results of a passenger flow analysis.
"On this section two to three passengers ride, at most, meaning this section is not popular at all," Ryabinin said.
To compensate for the cancellation of bus service along Meshchersky Boulevard, trolleybus service on that section will be strengthened.
Earlier it was reported that from November 1 bus route No. 42 in Nizhny Novgorod will be canceled.
