      A graduate of the Nizhny Novgorod sports school "Vodnik", international-class Master of Sport Alexander Konyshev won gold at a stage of the World Triathlon Para Cup 2025, which took place in Turkey.

      According to the Department of Sports, the athlete completed a triathlon distance that included 750 meters of swimming, 18.75 kilometers of cycling and 4.58 kilometers of running. Alexander’s final time was 55 minutes and 50 seconds. He convincingly beat competitors from 13 countries and took first place in the PTS5 class.

      This victory put the Nizhny Novgorod native into the world’s top ten para-triathletes. Entry into the top-10 of the world rankings gave Konyshev the opportunity to take part in the qualification for the 2028 Summer Paralympic Games.

      Overall, Russian athletes won seven medals at these international competitions: two gold, two silver and three bronze.
