Ambulance drivers in Nizhny Novgorod were paid overtime after an inspection.
October 30, 2025 15:57 Society. The Prosecutor's Office secured overtime payments for 230 ambulance drivers in Nizhny Novgorod, the supervisory agency reported.
The Sovetsky District Prosecutor's Office identified violations in the pay of emergency medical service vehicle drivers — they were not compensated for overtime hours.
Following the supervisory activities, the prosecutor's office issued a submission to the chief physician of the medical institution. Also, by orders of the supervisory agency, the officials responsible were held administratively liable under parts 1 and 6 of Article 5.27 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
As a result of the prosecutor's intervention, salaries were recalculated for 230 employees. The total amount of additional payments exceeded 1.8 million rubles.
Earlier, the regional Health Workers' Union reported that drivers should be paid compensation for overtime from 2022 to 2024. In violation of the law, they had been classified as holding secondary jobs. It was also reported that over the past five years the average earnings of healthcare workers in the region increased by 44%.
