A Nizhny Novgorod metalworking enterprise increased its output thanks to a national project.

      October 28, 2025, 15:30 Economy Experts of the regional competence center (RCC), together with employees of Giada-NN LLC, summed up the results of implementing the tools of the federal project “Labor Productivity” of the national project “Efficient and Competitive Economy” at the production site.

      The company is engaged in metalworking and the custom manufacture of precision parts and assemblies in medium and small series. Its core profile is the manufacture of molds and dies, hydraulic elements and precision technological tooling. The pilot direction chosen was the process for producing safety devices of the “catchers” group. These units are part of safety devices designed to stop and hold moving elements in emergency situations, for example, in the event of a rope break in an elevator.

      According to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Maksim Cherkasov, over six months RCC experts together with the company’s employees analyzed the operation of the pilot shop and identified 14 bottlenecks, including difficulties with the procurement and supply of tools, non-ergonomic workplaces and redundant labor-intensive processes.

      “RCC specialists, together with the enterprise’s project team, developed a set of measures to optimize the pilot flow — in particular, a procedure for interaction with the supplier, which reduced the workpiece defect rate by 74 percent. They also carried out an inventory of materials and determined storage locations for tools and tooling. As a result of the implemented changes, output on the pilot flow increased by 35 percent,” Maksim Cherkasov said.

      RCC specialists also trained 12 company employees in lean technologies and prepared two internal trainers who will be able to independently train their colleagues in the future.

      In the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the tools of the federal project “Labor Productivity” of the national project “Efficient and Competitive Economy” are being implemented at seven metalworking enterprises. In total, 301 regional companies are participants in the federal project.

      The national project “Efficient and Competitive Economy,” initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, is the main instrument for forming a new growth model.
