Nizhny Novgorod’s "Chaika" ended a ten-match winning streak.
October 23, 2025, 17:38 Sports — Nizhny Novgorod's "Chayka" suffered their first defeat in the last 11 matches, losing in Yaroslavl to the local "Loko" 1–3.
The game began with the hosts converting a power play to take a 1–0 lead. In the second period the Yaroslavl side extended the lead to two goals.
In the 36th minute Chayka were once again shorthanded. The hosts converted the numerical advantage, making it 3–0.
The only goal for the Nizhny Novgorod team was scored by Makar Opolinsky. He struck in the 46th minute on the power play. However, Chayka were unable to cut the deficit to a minimum or salvage the match.
Thus, the 10-game winning streak of Alexey Tomilov's charges came to an end. The Avtozavodtsy are positioned third in the Golden Division of the Eastern Conference.
The Nizhny Novgorod side will play their next match (6+) on October 24 in Saint Petersburg against SKA-1946.
Earlier it was reported that Torpedo beat Sochi. A brace from newcomer Shane Prince secured the victory.
