A Nizhny Novgorod electrical equipment manufacturer increased its output by 37% thanks to a federal project.

      Experts from the regional Competence Center (RCC), together with employees of KIT-Energo LLC from Nizhny Novgorod, summed up the results of implementing the tools of the federal project "Labor Productivity" of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy."

      The company specializes in the production of distribution boxes, compact cabinets, stainless steel enclosures, custom cabinets built to customer specifications, thermal cabinets, and control panels.

      The pilot direction chosen was the process of manufacturing the enclosure for an automation and power distribution system. Sales of this product account for 21% of the company's total revenue.

      According to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Maxim Cherkasov, over six months RCC experts, together with company employees, analyzed the work of the pilot area and identified 32 bottlenecks in the flow, including incomplete information in the drawings, a lengthy process for locating required spare parts, and the absence of standards for performing operations at the assembly area.

      "The RCC specialists, together with the company's project team, developed a set of measures to optimize the pilot flow. For example, a product painting standard was introduced, the assembly area was replanned, and storage locations were reorganized. As a result of the implemented changes, output in the pilot flow increased by 37 percent," said Maxim Cherkasov.

      RCC specialists also trained 21 company employees in lean technologies and prepared three internal trainers who will be able to train their colleagues independently in the future.

      In the Nizhny Novgorod Region, 13 manufacturers of electrical and distribution equipment are implementing the tools of the federal project "Labor Productivity" of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy." In total, 300 regional companies are participants in the federal project.

      The national project "Effective and Competitive Economy," initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, is the main tool for forming a new growth model.
