Fake dairy products were found in kindergartens and schools in Nizhny Novgorod.

      Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Directorate for the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Republic of Mari El Evgeny Ivanov and director of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the FSBI "VNIIZh" Irina Petrova spoke about the results of monitoring food products and measures to control their quality. They spoke at a briefing on food security issues in the region on October 22.

      As Evgeny Ivanov noted, as part of the federal monitoring, 310 samples of livestock products, including milk, meat, eggs and honey, have been taken in the Nizhny Novgorod Region since the beginning of the year. Violations were recorded in 28 of them.

      Special attention is paid to the quality of products supplied to kindergartens and schools. During inspections of social institutions, 33 samples were taken, and in five of them cases of adulteration of dairy products with vegetable fats were identified. The violations concerned sour cream, condensed milk and cheese produced in Vladimir and Saratov regions, Krasnoyarsk Krai and the Republic of Mari El.

      Inspections also affected suppliers. Of 21 companies supplying 190 institutions, 10 were found to have violations in product traceability.

      As a result of the inspections, 34 declarations of conformity were suspended: 27 for dairy products and 7 for meat.

      Irina Petrova reported that over the 9 months of the current year the laboratory carried out 179,150 tests on 17,490 samples. Of these, 1,741 samples tested positive, which amounted to 10% of the total volume.

      Under the state assignment, 2,197 samples were tested, of which violations were found in 560 cases. Adulteration is especially frequently detected in dairy products, despite a decrease in violations in feed and eggs.

      Experts note that thanks to constant monitoring and cooperation with producers, product quality in the region is gradually improving. At the same time, the problem of adulteration by small enterprises remains, especially in the dairy sector.

      Earlier it was reported that since the beginning of the year 12 hectares of dumps have been eliminated in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
