Bastrykin has taken an interest in the case of violations of the rights of a disabled child in Dzerzhinsk.

      23 October 2025 13:14 Incidents The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, drew attention to the investigation of a criminal case related to the violation of the rights of a disabled child in the city of Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region. This was reported by the department's press service.

      The case was prompted by a video appeal from a Dzerzhinsk resident posted online. In the clip the woman said she is raising a daughter with a disability and lives in a building on Revolyutsii Street. According to her, the building's entrance is not equipped with a ramp, which prevents her from using a wheelchair to take the child outside.

      The single mother repeatedly appealed to various authorities to install a ramp, but her requests went unanswered. In addition, she was denied recognition of her family as low-income because the per capita income exceeds the established subsistence minimum. This prevents her from being registered as needing improved housing conditions.

      The Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Nizhny Novgorod Region has already opened a criminal case into the possible violation of the rights of the disabled child. Alexander Bastrykin demanded that the head of the regional Investigative Committee, Ayrat Akhmetshin, submit a report on the progress of the investigation and the measures taken.

      Earlier it was reported that a flooded house in Nizhny Novgorod had attracted the attention of the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin.
