In Nizhny Novgorod, preparations are underway to expand the network of liquid household waste (LHW) reception points. The city administration, together with JSC "Teploenergo," has reached an agreement with a private investor who intends to build new facilities on Metallistov Street, 6V and Kima Street, 339A.
As the Department of Housing and Engineering Infrastructure explained to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod," currently the city officially operates only one drainage station — Sewage Pumping Station No. 12A, located at 16B Krasnykh Partizan Street. It is managed by JSC "Teploenergo" and accepts waste from cesspools and septic tanks free of charge. Other waste dumping sites in the city are considered unauthorized.
Given the importance of the problem and the social significance of the issue, city authorities have initiated the development of infrastructure for receiving LHW. It was decided to attract private investors to build new stations.
The department also noted that, as a result of negotiations with business representatives, an agreement was reached to implement 12 investment projects to create new LHW reception points in various districts of the city.
"Positive conclusions from the Council on Land and Property Relations under the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region have already been obtained for six of these investment projects. Roadmaps defining the stages of construction have also been approved," the Department of Housing added.
Earlier it was reported that since the beginning of 2025 about 50 administrative protocols have been drawn up against illegal sewage haulers.
