14 illegal migrants were found during a raid in Dzerzhinsk — video

      In Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region, law enforcement officers carried out a migration raid during which foreign nationals who violated Russian law were identified. The event was conducted as part of the preventive operation "Illegal‑2025," the press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

      Police visited a residential building on Lermontov Street, where they found 14 migrants. They were all in Russia without legal grounds and without official employment, but were performing duties as auxiliary workers.

      In addition, eight people lacked documents confirming they had undergone the mandatory medical examination, fingerprint registration and photographing, which is also a violation of migration legislation.

      As a result of the inspection, 36 administrative reports were drawn up. Fourteen concern illegal employment, another 14 concern violations of the rules of entry and stay in Russia, and the remaining eight concern non‑compliance with immigration requirements.

      At present police are identifying persons involved in recruiting migrants for illegal work. The possibility of opening a criminal case under the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation related to illegal crossing of the state border is also being considered.

      Earlier it was reported that new restrictions on migrants may be introduced in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
