Output at the Nizhny Novgorod furniture company will increase by 11% thanks to the federal project "Labor Productivity".

      Experts from the regional Competence Center (RCC), together with employees of Mebel-Kompleks LLC in Nizhny Novgorod, summed up the interim results of implementing the tools of the federal project "Labor Productivity" under the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy" at the enterprise. The company specializes in manufacturing furniture for offices and retail businesses.

      Specialists from the regional Competence Center work at enterprises participating in the federal project for six months. After three months an Information Day is held, during which RCC experts summarize the work and present plans for the second part of the project.

      According to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Maxim Cherkasov, the pilot stream chosen was the process of manufacturing case furniture with MDF fronts. Sales of this product account for 37% of the company's revenue.

      "RCC specialists, together with the working group, analyzed the processes at the enterprise and identified 26 bottlenecks in the flow, including inefficient logistics, operator downtime, and suboptimally equipped workstations. Solutions were proposed for each of these items and an action plan was developed. Implementing the RCC specialists' proposals and the company's pilot project team will make it possible to increase the enterprise's output by 11 percent by the time the project is completed," Maxim Cherkasov said.

      RCC experts trained 12 company employees in lean technologies, and are now preparing two internal trainers who will later be able to train their colleagues independently.

      In the Nizhny Novgorod Region, three furniture manufacturing companies are successfully implementing the tools of the federal project "Labor Productivity" of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy." In total, 300 regional companies are participants in the federal project.
