More than 36 thousand appeals have been received by the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the "Defenders of the Fatherland" fund since it began operating. The most common appeals concern working with the families of servicemen missing in action, providing psychological and psychotherapeutic assistance, arranging payments and measures of social support, and legal assistance.
It should be noted that a regular meeting of the Supervisory Board of the State Fund for the Support of Participants in the Special Military Operation "Defenders of the Fatherland" was recently held. It was attended by First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergey Kiriyenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova, State Secretary — Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation and Chair of the "Defenders of the Fatherland" fund Anna Tsivileva, and others.
"According to polls conducted by the 'People's Front,' the situation regarding coverage of SVO veterans by social coordinators has improved. In 2025, the share of such veterans who reported that a social coordinator had been assigned to them reached 87%. About 80% of surveyed veterans rate the coordinators' work consistently highly," Sergey Kiriyenko noted.
He supported the initiative to change the structure of the fund’s branches.
In turn, Anna Tsivileva announced an initiative to expand the assistance provided by the fund to SVO veterans who suffered serious injuries but decided to continue serving. It is proposed that active servicemen with disabilities will be able, on par with discharged SVO veterans, to receive support measures from the state.
